This blog will contain short periodic entries about what is currently happening at Sunset Vista

Our Community Gardeners are loading their produce baskets with Zucchini, basil, onions, garlic, peas, beans, lettuce, arugula and lots more ALREADY! It's a great year for growing all-natural produce here at Sunset Vista Community Garden.

Claire and her first harvest!

Thank you to the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation for granting Sunset Vista $4,871 to purchase raised beds, adaptable tools, and to lease an accessible port-a-john. We have made the purchases and are now raising the money to level the double garden plot, pave the pathway for wheelchair accessibility, and pave 2 parking spots for the lift vans, as required. Please attend our Tuscan Dinner Fundraiser which will help us raise this money! See .

Now is the time to make your reservation for the August Tuscan Dinner Event, sponsored by Caffe Anello and the Vitale family. What a beautiful evening this was the past four years, and we plan to make this year even better. Go to to see the menu and details, and register via Paypal.  See pictures of previous years dinner by clicking on our PHOTOS tab. Don't miss out, register now!

As of July 13, the public is welcome to stop by Sunset View Farm and pick up fresh, all natural Italian basil and garlic, and bouquets of zinnias. Call or text ahead and we'll have it ready for you. 973-579-7382. Beautiiful heirloom Jersey tomatoes coming soon. Heirloom watermelon and cantaloupe scheduled for early September. YUM!

Our gardeners have prepared their plots, planted seedlings and seeds, and we have now gotten RAIN, hooray! The farm has created a new herb circle, planted loads of tomatoes, herbs, and melon, and a new grape arbor is being installed to hold the beautiful grapevines that are now 3 years old and heavy already with tiny grapes. We are experimenting with beans and peanut growing in the high tunnel, and they sure look healthy and beautiful.
